Interference filters are dielectric thin layer material having differing refractive indices to produce constructive and destruction interference in the transmitted light, this acts by transmitting a specific waveband only. This is a precision filter to provide a very steep slope cut-on or cut-off at a particular wavelength.
These filters have an extremely narrow band or broadband depending on the required bandwidth. The narrow bandpass filters are available for 220nm in the ultra-violet to the Far-Infrared over 10 microns. Blocking is added to the filter, which prevents wavelengths beyond the passband.
Typical applications for interference filters include:
Water and environmental testing
Clinical chemistry lighting
Colorimetry
Photometry
Fluorescence
Lasers
LED’s
Although not a stock item there are many standard wavelengths available in 1” diameters from production over runs. Please contact the registered manufacturer for additional details
