Photopic eye response filters pass the wavelength of light in proportion of the eyes response. The transmission of these filters, when combined with a broad band source and detector such as a tungsten-halogen lamp and S-20 photocathode, is very similar to the spectral response of the human eye.
When measuring illumination for safety regulations the measurements are photopic and stipulate the insertion of a photopic filter in the system.
Stock Photopic Filters
For use with silicon detectors or cameras, photopic eye response filters are manufactured either by a multi-layer coating or a combination of several glasses to create a photopic response curve transmission from 400nm to 700nm peaking around 530nm, HP approximately 470.60nm and 607nm.
Photopic Filters Transmission Data
Photopic filters are manufactured to industry standard sizes in 25mm, 50mm dia or 50mmx50mm or can be custom made to specific sizes.
